1. I'm not interested in politics, and other similar analysis. I like Chemistry, engineering, Biology and Literature - and these define my experience and breadth of understanding. However, I find myself disappointed by the quality and logic of arguments that fill my facebook feeds. I cannot talk sense on facebook, it's too dynamic for measured argument (Too many comments, too much slang, too much anger)
2. Where is our policy headed? Are we going to be able to remove poverty, ensure good living, ensure opportunity? Here on this blog, I will try to think beyond my regular lovely doses of chemical reactors and heat exchanger optimization.
3. Of my 567 friends on facebook, 53 like Narendra Modi, 16 like Manmohan Singh. 19 like Subramaian Swamy. 1 each like Sushma Swaraj and Jaiprakash Narayan and 0 like Nehru (though Swaraj, Jaiprakash and Nehru have only wiki-type pages, no feeds.) Is it just social media presence, or is there a deeper reason to this? What are the reasons for these numbers?
4. Most importantly, can one describe what is happening in numbers and logic? Most media posts are lost on me. They try to spin weird self-serving arguments. Most posts are too short to explain the reason for the stance, they go headlong into what the commentator "feels".
5. I thought it's be fun.
Hope it's good.
